Here is a copy of the letter sent to the New York Post:
I am writing you today to let you know I will not tolerate racist images and caricatures in your newspaper. I ask you to take immediate action to renounce the racist cartoon published in your paper on Wednesday showing two police officers, one with a smoking gun, standing over the body of a bullet-riddled chimp. This blatant exhibit of racism, comparing our commander in chief (also featured signing the stimulus bill on the issue’s facing page) to a dead chimpanzee is unacceptable, given the historic racist stereotypes of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys. I strongly urge the immediate firing of the Editor-in-Chief and all those involved in the decision to print the image. I also demand that the New York Post publish a full, unequivocal apology for the misguided decision to print the cartoon.
Your publication sadly reminded me of the reality that even in 2009, when an African American man holds the highest post in the nation, racism is alive and well in the United States, and that we have a long way to go to ensure civil and human rights of all people. There is no room for this kind of insensitivity and divisiveness – they only distract us from the real work that we need to do to foster an era of change, collaboration, and acceptance of all people.
As a supporter of the NAACP, and as a citizen committed to ending racism and promoting civil rights for all people, I ask you to do better.
Please send this to your friends and get them involved. Please don’t forget that Billionaire Rupert Murdoch the CEO of Newscorp also owns Fox News as well as the New York Post.
Talk Radio Station WBT in Charlotte, NC and the newest 3-6pm host Tara Servatius seem to be playing to the White Redneck KKK crowd as usual. Tara Servatius has obviously sold her UNC Chapel Hill Journalism Degree and her soul to get a job on the radio at WBT. She seems to be following in the footsteps of her fired predecessor Jeff Katz. The reason I say this is because Tara increasingly spends her radio time spewing hate about the black community and the majority of Charlotteans that voted for President Barack Obama. She also seems to have picked up the poor habit of being rude and hateful to callers that don’t share her narrow view of the world.
Tara Servatius is married and recently had a baby. Now I guess she thinks it makes her morally superior to anyone that has a child out of wedlock. I heard her recent “Baby Daddy” segment where she thought it was newsworthy to explain to young black women that they were basically scum because they have kids and they aren’t married. Another segment made fun of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and people that support civil rights. This is blatant hate. WBT should be ashamed to have a person on board would consider this journalism. Perhaps a better segment might of been about the kids that don’t have fathers or mothers because they died because George Bush sent them to Iraq to look for weapons of mass destruction that never existed. Maybe she could do a segment about how people that call themselves Christians support torture and the murder of innocent civilians. Maybe she could do a segment about WBT and how it used to be a powerhouse but is now just a sad joke.
I’ve said this many times before and i’ll say it again: HATE doesn’t sell. The Republican Party is dead in the water as long as they depend on hate mongers and racists that call themselves conservatives to represent the conservative movement. It suits me fine. Maybe its time for the conservative movement to go the way of the Whig Party. Forgotten. A new day has dawned.
It seems that not much has changed over at WBT since they fired Hate Radio Host Jeff Katz. While listening to the 3-6 pm show on Friday the main topics were some type of strange racist conspiracy theory that Barack Obama wasn’t a US Citizen because his step father adopted him and took away his US Citizenship and that he was really a Muslin ( really scary lol ) and therefore he could not be the President. This was based on a case that has been thrown out of every court in the country and now WBT is treating it like something with traction because the final appeal is to the US Supreme Court. WBT is pandering to racist rednecks as usual. Its already known the Supreme Court is not going to do anything that would upset a presidential election especially since Obama has already been vetted in all 50 states. This is simply another dangerous way that WBT causes racial hated in our community.
Another racial topic of the day was the OJ Simpson conviction. WBT used this as an opportunity to bring up all the racial hatred from the original OJ Simpson acquittal. The host spoke for over an hour and talked with glee about how OJ finally got what was coming to him and how he was really guilty all along. And how members of the black community let him off and made a joke out of the justice system. Several callers even called and said that this trail had nothing to do with the other trial but were treated rudely and not given their say. This was clearly another way of being racially divisive and causing racial turmoil in our community. The host was clearly trying to connect with racists and trying to stir up feelings of hate against African Americans and should be ashamed.
Its sad that WBT has to make money trying to sell lies and hate to its community. Kharma is a bitch.

Judge rejects Montco lawyer’s bid to have Obama removed from ballot

A federal judge in Philadelphia last night threw out a complaint by a Montgomery County lawyer who claimed that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was not qualified to be president and that his name should be removed from the Nov. 4 ballot.
Philip J. Berg alleged in a complaint filed in federal district court on Aug. 21 against Obama, the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission, that Obama was born in Mombasa, Kenya.
Berg claimed that the Democratic presidential standardbearer is not even an American citizen but a citizen of Indonesia and therefore ineligible to be president.
He alleged that if Obama was permitted to run for president and subsequently found to be ineligible, he and other voters would be disenfranchised.
U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick had denied Berg’s request for a temporary restraining order on Aug. 22 but had not ruled on the merits of the suit until yesterday.
Obama and the Democratic National Committee had asked Surrick to dismiss Berg’s complaint in a court filing on Sept. 24.
They said that Berg’s claims were “ridiculous” and “patently false,” that Berg had “no standing” to challenge the qualifications of a candidate for president because he had not shown the requisite harm to himself.
Surrick agreed.
In a 34-page memorandum and opinion, the judge said Berg’s allegations of harm were “too vague and too attenuated” to confer standing on him or any other voters.
Surrick ruled that Berg’s attempts to use certain laws to gain standing to pursue his claim that Obama was not a natural-born citizen were “frivolous and not worthy of discussion.”
The judge also said the harm Berg alleged did “not constitute an injury in fact” and Berg’s arguments to the contrary “ventured into the unreasonable.”
For example, Berg had claimed that Obama’s nomination deprived citizens of voting for Sen. Hillary Clinton in November. (Berg backed Clinton in the primaries.)
Berg could not be reached for comment last night.
Obama was born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961, and the campaign posted a document issued by Hawaii on its Web site, fight thesmears.com, confirming his birth there.
Berg said in court papers that the image was a forgery.
The nonpartisan Web site FactCheck.org examined the original document and said it was legitimate.
Further, a birth announcement in the Aug. 13, 1961, Honolulu Advertiser listed Obama’s birth there on Aug. 4. *
On Saturday October 11, 2008 at a McCain/Palin Rally one of Pennsylvania’s finest cowards was caught carrying a toy monkey with an Obama sticker attached to its head. When he noticed he was being videotaped he quickly took off the sticker and stuffed it in his pocket and gave the toy monkey to a child. What is sad is that none of the people that were near him seemed to think it was wrong. Its sad to think there is even a political party that would make a person like this welcome in 2008. I guess the Republicans still accept racists in Johnstown, PA.
