The Simple Solution to the Illegal Immigration Problem

The illegal immigration problem has been a prime issue the conservatives rail against. The conservative movement has used this issue to ignite a wave of hate against the hispanic community and instill fear in the america public. They are proponents of spending hundreds of millions of dollars to build higher and longer walls and increase the number of agents on the US-Mexico border. The conservatives are also proponents of maintaining the status quo when it comes to the companies and corporations that hire these illegal immigrants.
The penalty for hiring illegal immigrants is minor compared to the harsh treatment of an immigrant often ripped from his family and jailed awaiting a hearing and deportation. Deporting the estimated 10 million plus illegal immigrants is unrealistic

The current penalties are as follows:

There are civil and criminal penalties for hiring illegal aliens. Sec. 274A of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) and 8 U.S.C. 1324a, makes it unlawful for any person knowingly to hire, recruit or refer for a fee any alien not authorized to work. An employer that violates these laws can face penalties of:

· $250 to $2,000 fine for each unauthorized individual;

· $2,000 to $5,000 for each employee if the employer has previously been in violation; or

· $3,000 to $10,000 for each individual if the employer was subject to more than one cease and desist order.

The employer could also be fined $100 to $1,000 for each individual “paperwork” violation.

The criminal penalties for a pattern and practice violation can be up to $3,000 for each unauthorized alien, imprisonment up to six months, or both.

A recent study found this:

A new study by Rajeev Goyle and David A. Jaeger for the Center for American Progress in Washington calculates the cost of mass deportation to be at least $206 billion over five years. The annual cost of $41 billion would exceed the entire budget of the Department of Homeland Security ($34.2 billion) and would be more than double the annual spending on border and transportation security ($19.3 billion).

The only way to stem the tide of illegal immigration is to make the penalties to employers so repugnant that they will go to great lengths to make sure they are hiring properly documented workers. If there are no jobs available for illegal immigrants than they won’t have a reason to cross the border.

I suggest we stop the focus on the immigrant and place it on the employers that hire them. Here are some penalty suggestions to stem the tide of illegal immigration:

$5,000 and 6 months mandatory jail time on the first conviction. ( Business principal or CEO would serve the time )

$10,000 and 3 years mandatory prison time and forfeiture of business property and equipment on the second conviction. ( Business principal or CEO would serve the time )

$250,000 and 15 years mandatory prison time and forfeiture of business property and equipment on the third conviction. ( Business principal or CEO would serve the time )

This would also have the added benefit of creating jobs for US Citizens and increasing tax revenue and lowering the deficit. The problem is, you won’t see a conservative touting a measure that would actually stem the tide of illegal workers. It would cut into the profits of the companies and corporations that support them. They would rather just hurl hate and lies and make you fear a minority rather than solve the problem they rail against.

Tara Servatius : Hating gay people for kicks and ratings on WBT-1110 radio ?

From Webster’s dictionary:

Bigot : a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred      and   intolerance

Hate : intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury  : extreme dislike or antipathy

It’s hard to believe that in the year 2010 there are still people and business’s that still make their money spreading hate and fear. I guess my mistake is that I live in Charlotte, NC and some people still  think it is the 1950′s and 1960′s. Tara Servatius is an afternoon talk show host on WBT-1110 AM. It seems that almost every day she goes out of her way to spread hate, fear of lies about one group or  another.

The reason I am writing today is how alarming I find that people like Tara Servatius are actually hired. Tara’s latest bad habit is the disparaging remarks she has been making about gay  people,  namely gay men. The other day she equated that gay men are not  ”real” men and ride around on bicycles in tight shorts and that bicycling in general is a gay sport. Remarks like these are purely  stereotypes. Stereotypes have been used to degrade  and separate all types of minority groups throughout history.

I tried to contact Tara Servatius on the air and asked her why she thought it was  appropriate to discriminate against gay people on several occasions. I was also told by a producer that I could e-mail  her and ask her. I sent her several e-mails, very short and too the point. They said ” Tara, why does it matter to you if someone is gay or not ? ” I sent this e-mail sevaral times and have yet to receive a  response. This is coming from a person that has demanded that the governor come on her show and answer questions.

Spreading hate and perpetuating negativity about your fellow human beings is no way to make a living and its now way to make money. I hope in the future WBT-1110 either wises up or is demolished by a competitor with a more ethical plan to bring news to Charlotte. And as far a Tara Servatius goes, all we can do is hope she will change or find a new profession.

Fox News Executives and Bill O’Reilly should be arrested for conspiracy to commit murder and domestic terrorism

In the video below you will see Keith Olberman explain how Bill O’Reilly on 28 occasions practically beg people to commit murder and acts of terrorism. Bill O’Rielly is a good example of a form of conservatism that needs to be stamped out and will be. As President and CEO of Fox Rupert Murdoch should be held accountable.

Bill O’Reilly has to bear some of the responsibility. Like the Dr. or not O’Rielly mentioned the Dr. Tiller’s name 28 times on the air and basically taunted people to take action against him. There is a difference between free speech and hate speech. Free Speech does not mean you can yell fire in a crowded theater. Hitler had a propaganda minister that was sentenced to death by a allied military tribunal and he never personally laid hands on one person murdered by the regime. He only spread hate and lies about them. If you are against abortion then get the law changed, don’t murder people. If you work outside the law it kills your cause. According to the law and the Supreme Court abortion is legal now. It doesn’t mean the law is perfect or right, if the people have the will to change the law they will. The law will NOT be changed by murder or violence.

Republicans Lose ANOTHER House Seat : The Republitards Just Don’t Get It

The Republicans lost another house seat by a narrow margin. New York’s 20th District goes to a Democrat after a special election for a vacated seat. 4 years ago this was a Republican stronghold. This is just another sign that the Republican Party is out of touch with mainstream Americans. While the Democrats have been offering solutions, the Republicans have been offering nothing but divisive and hateful commentary. They’re staunch support of corporations and jobs being sent overseas does not ring well with everyday America. With the gap between rich and poor widening, the Republicans are clearly out of step with the working family. They oppose every plan that might help the downtrodden and support every corporate welfare plan that comes down the pike. When you have leaders like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Rielly you get what you pay for. You make your bed, you sleep in it.

Constitution Party Member Alan Keyes Threatens President Obama And Should Be Arrested

Constitution Party Member Alan Keyes has clearly threatened President Barack Obama and should be arrested and charged.

Here is the threat:

“Obama is a radical communist and I think it is becoming clear. That is what I told people in Illinois and now everybody realizes it is coming true. He is going to destroy this country and we are either going to stop him or the United States of America is going to cease to exist,”

This is not the first President Alan Keyes has threatened. Here is another quote I found of Keyes:

“…the Second Amendment is really in the Constitution to give men like Bill Clinton something to think about when their ambition gets particularly overinflated.” – Keyes giving a cryptic threat against President Clinton.

Beware of the Constitution Party : Part I – No Votes for African Americans

Founding Father Thomas Jefferson said:

“Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity. What has been the effect of coercion? To make half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites.”  (ref. Bartlett’s 16th Ed., p.343)

The Constitution Party Preamble says:

“The Constitution Party gratefully acknowledges the blessing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as Creator, Preserver and Ruler of the Universe and of these United States. We hereby appeal to Him for mercy, aid, comfort, guidance and the protection of His Providence as we work to restore and preserve these United States.”

According to the Constitution Party platform in the Election Reform Section they will repeal the Voting Rights Act of 1965 which:

“outlawed discriminatory voting practices that had been responsible for the widespread disenfranchisement of African Americans in the United States. Echoing the language of the 15th Amendment, the Act prohibited states from imposing any “voting qualification or prerequisite to voting, or standard, practice, or procedure … to deny or abridge the right of any citizen of the United States to vote on account of race or color. “Specifically, Congress intended the Act to outlaw the practice of requiring otherwise qualified voters to pass literary tests in order to register to vote, a principal means by which southern states had prevented African-Americans from exercising the franchise.”

The Constitution Party is clearly a refuge for Hate and Intolerance. They are recruiting Christians that should beware of the hate filled intent of a political party that advocates white supremacy. If you do some research you will soon find that the  Constitution Party is really a pseudo-confederate organization that want to turn the clock back and undo the US Civil War and give total sovereignty back to the states. This will allow the bigoted and ignorant to return to the hatred and racism our forefathers fought and died to end.

I did a little research on a group of extremists calling themselves the Constitution Party. It seems to be a very dangerous group that if it had its was would through America into a government ruled by hate mongers and bigots. The Preamble eludes to Christianity being the only religion allowed under a Constitution Party government.

“The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundaries.”

Hate and Hate Crimes are allowed under a Constitution Party government.

If you are a victim rape or a victim of incest that’s just too bad.

You won’t be allowed to elect your Senator, the state will do that for you.

Don’t worry about having an army, the local militia rednecks will protect you.

African Americans  don’t get to vote anymore under a Constitution Party government.

No More Immigration

Only the free speech the Constitution Party allows.

Eliminate Social Security

Reverse who won  the US Civil War

On Washington DC and Puerto Rico

These people are a serious threat to the United States and the rights of its citizens. They have taken a bunch of hate mongers, KKK and white supremacists, and thrown in some religious intolerance and are calling it the Constitution Party. This is the modern Nazi Party if there ever was one.

Conspiracy Theory About The President Obama Birth Certificate and Citizenship Going Down the Toilet

It’s all over except for the crying for the conspiracy theory community on the subject of the President Obama birth certificate and citizenship. What started with a bang is ending with a wimper. I thought I would put together a list of all the spurious cases that have already been thrown out that I could find. Here goes.

Philip  Berg, a Pennsylvania Democrat and Hillary supporter that also filed an action blaming Bush for the 911 attacks demanded that the courts verify Obama’s original birth certificate and other documents proving his American citizenship. All of Bergs actions have been denied so far.

The Constitution Party and Former Presidential Candidate Alan Keyes were suing because they said President Obama wasn’t qualified to be president. Their case made to the Hawaii Supreme Court and was thrown out.
Cort Wrotnowski filed suit against Connecticut’s secretary of state, making a similar argument it was thrown out.

Leo Donofrio filed a New Jersey lawsuit claiming Obama’s dual citizenship disqualified him from being  President. It was thrown out.

Chicago’s Andy Martin sued to require Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle to release Obama’s vital statistics record. Even though it was released months ago.The case was thrown out by Hawaii Circuit Court Judge Bert Ayabe.

Lt. Col. Donald Sullivan sought a  restraining order to stop the Electoral College vote in North Carolina until Barack Obama’s eligibility could be confirmed. It was thrown out.

In Ohio, David Neal sued for documents from the Secretary of State, DNC and Ohio Democratic Party. It was thrown out.

In the State of  Washington , Steven Marquis sued the Secretary of State to make a determination on Obama’s citizenship. The case was thrown out.

In Georgia, Reverend Tom Terry tried to file an injuction and asked the state Supreme Court to authenticate Obama’s birth certificate. The case was thrown out.

The Texas Case, Darrel Hunter v. Obama was also dismissed.

The Ohio Case, Gordon Stamper v. US was also dismissed.

Conspiracy Theories aboud but wheres the beef ? There isn’t any. Justice always prevails. These people that claim to be Patriots and Defenders of the US Constitution are nothing more than smoke and mirrors. When it comes down to the facts, they don’t have the evidence to support their spurious claims. But I’m sure they will still be happy to take your money. It seems making money from conspiracy theories has become a cottage industry for some of these people. Blogging, hate radio and rumors will only take you so far. Eventually you have to prove things. I think I hear a flushing sound. Sounds like a bunch of hate going down the commode.

Alan Keyes Case Against President Obama Dismissed

Looks like Alan Keyes and the Constitution Party has joined the ranks of people like Philip Berg by filing spurious and unsuccessful cases against President Obama.  Alan Keyes is also trying to gain notoriety by filing a lawsuit questioning the Barack Obama birth certificate and the birthplace of President Obama. This type of case has already been taken to the US Supreme Court who summarily refused to have anything to do with it. It’s a shame that another alleged conservative has chosen the route of conspiracy theories instead of coming up real solutions to America’s problems. But since Alan Keyes is a supporter of lobbyists, the rich, and corporations that send our jobs overseas what can you expect ? Alan Keyes really does have nothing to offer so why not play smoke and mirrors and hope some nimrods keep sending you checks ? Keyes v. Lingle dismissed by the Hawaii Supreme Court as expected. Its time to stop playing politics and do something that brings our America together.

Upon consideration of the Complaint to Contest the 2008 Presidential Election submitted by Plaintiffs Constitution Party and Alan L. Keyes, the Motion to Dismiss submitted by Defendants Governor Linda L. Lingle and Chief Election Officer Kevin B. Cronin, it appears the Plaintiffs style the complaint as an election contest brought pursuant to Hawaii‘i Revised Statutes §§ 11-172 and 11-174.5, but allege, in pertinent part, that Defendant Cronin failed to require proof that candidate Barack Obama was qualified to be a candidate for President of the United States. Any challenge to the Chief Election Officer’s finding of eligibility of a presidential candidate in the State of Hawai‘i must be pursued in accordance with HRS § 11-113(e), not sections 11-172 and 11-174.5. Therefore,

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Defendants’ Motion to Dismiss is granted and this case is dismissed.
